Monthly Torah study continues in 2025! Whether you’re a regular Torah reader or new to study, everyone is welcome. Enjoy bagels and coffee—and engaging discussions that bring multiple perspectives to each reading.

To read the Torah portion before our class (helpful but not required), the parsha is Shemot, the first Torah reading in the book of Exodus/Shemot (Exodus 1:1-6:1) <– This link will take you to a website with a summary bit, key sections, and links to the entire portion in Hebrew + English.

I have chosen the translation by Everett Fox, as he designed his translation to capture the experience of reading the ancient Hebrew. If you’d like your own copy, his book is titled The Five Books of Moses. Of course, you are free to read any translation you’d like, and there are copies of the Hebrew Bible in the sanctuary at B’nai Torah.

Remember: you’re welcome to come for the people, the learning, or the bagels! This program will be held in person.
