At Beth El, 105 Hudson Road, Sudbury, MA
This evening is co-sponsored by Beth El, B’nai Torah MetroWest, and Ma’yan Tikvah.
Join us for an inspiring evening of new Jewish music and a closing-of-Shabbat ritual with Molly Bajgot. Molly will share music from her new first full-length album, Revelry (released in January), new tunes for Jewish liturgy, and original songs of hope. Together, we’ll create a sacred and songful space to close out Shabbat and step into the week.
As a singer, songwriter, and community prayer leader, Molly Bajgot writes songs for quenching the soul and melodies to enliven Jewish liturgy. Her music comes from places of pain, joy, grief, and a commitment to life and beauty. Today, she writes original songs and melodies for Jewish liturgy that draw from a place of yearning and reclamation.
Revelry is an album of original Jewish music and songs of hope. The songs feature a rich texture of powerful vocal arrangements, harmonies, string instruments, and immersive percussion. Many of the songs are meant to be sung in community, sharing messages of resilience and possibility. This music seeks to reflect the depth and vast emotional landscapes of our lives. As our communities navigate how to stay connected amidst increasing pressure to isolate and separate, we have a sacred task to stay oriented to ourselves, our people, and our traditions. This album is a prayer for just that.
